Where do tours start?

Cruise guests meet a Hooked Adventures rep holding a company sign at the Excursion Hub at the Icy Strait Point dock. We drive you 1.5 miles to Hoonah City Harbor. Independent travelers should call ahead to arrange a meeting spot.

How long are the tours?

Whale watching runs 3 hours and fishing runs 3.5 hours, both dock to dock. Juneau fjord tours run 8 to 10 hours.

How many people fit on a boat?

Up to 6 per boat. With three boats, we can take groups of up to 18.

What do I need to bring fishing?

We provide all the fishing gear. Anglers over 16 need an Alaska fishing license, and anyone keeping halibut needs a $20 NOAA halibut stamp, which can be added to your booking.

How do I book?

I had a super great time fishing with the other 4 on the boat and I really appreciated having a down to earth charter captain who played great music, had an awesome sense of humor and put us all on fish. I knew the time of year wasn’t the best but this is the only time I can travel and took my chances so I was happy to catch halibut and a cod. I also spread some of my husbands ashes from the boat. Hands down one of the best things we did in Alaska. Captain Herm was phenomenal. We caught halibut, cod, sculpin and more — there was always something happening, and we had a fantastic day on the water.

Herm is incredibly knowledgeable, knows these waters and made the whole experience feel relaxed and authentic. Our kids had an absolute blast — and his dog may have been as big a hit with them as the fishing!

Between Captain Herm, the fishing, the scenery and the four-legged first mate, this was exactly the Alaska experience we were hoping for. We would book with him again in a heartbeat.

Captian Josh is amazing! I've been on several charter boats in my life and this was by far the best. Josh truly loves what he does, he's knowledgeable, funny, friendly,  and most importantly he put us on the fish all day. We caught so many halibut we lost count. Booking was easy and they provided a shuttle to the dock. I feel like the price is great for the service you get.
