Hands down one of the best things we did in Alaska. Captain Herm was phenomenal. We caught halibut, cod, sculpin and more — there was always something happening, and we had a fantastic day on the water. Herm is incredibly knowledgeable, knows these waters and made the whole experience feel relaxed and authentic. Our kids had an absolute blast — and his dog may have been as big a hit with them as the fishing! Between Captain Herm, the fishing, the scenery and the four-legged first mate, this was exactly the Alaska experience we were hoping for. We would book with him again in a heartbeat.

Captian Josh is amazing! I've been on several charter boats in my life and this was by far the best. Josh truly loves what he does, he's knowledgeable, funny, friendly,  and most importantly he put us on the fish all day. We caught so many halibut we lost count. Booking was easy and they provided a shuttle to the dock. I feel like the price is great for the service you get. **An Unforgettable Alaska Fishing Experience!** Our fishing trip with Josh Rago of Hooked Adventures was truly one of the highlights of our time in Alaska. He was not only an incredibly skilled angler and an excellent guide, but he also made the entire experience so much fun with his humor, personality, and genuine love for what he does. What really captured my heart was something he said when my kids were standing on his boat cushions. He told them, essentially, **“The cushions are replaceable, but this might be the only time you ever get to fish in Alaska.”** As a mom, that meant everything to me. He understood that this wasn't just a fishing trip—it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience and a memory our family will treasure forever. That moment told me everything I needed to know about the kind of person he is. The fishing was fantastic! He knew exactly what he was doing and was one of the best anglers we've ever fished with. But he also made sure we experienced Alaska beyond just catching fish. He pointed out whales, otters, sea lions, and all of the incredible wildlife around us, making the trip feel like a true Alaskan adventure. I also have to mention how much Josh went above and beyond when our plans didn't go quite as expected. My husband had originally tried to book a full day of halibut fishing, but unfortunately, the booking didn't go through as intended. Josh went out of his way to communicate with headquarters to see if there was a way for our family to stay with him for the afternoon. When that wasn't possible, he didn't just leave us to figure it out—he helped arrange for us to spend the afternoon fly fishing with another angler, Natalie Vaz. That kind of effort and willingness to make sure we still had a great experience speaks volumes about Josh and the way he treats his clients. Between his knowledge, fishing skills, quick wit, and personality, he kept everyone entertained and engaged the entire time. The kids had an absolute blast, and we all left with incredible memories. I am definitely keeping Josh's contact information and hope we have the opportunity to return to Alaska and fish with him again someday.
