Alaska Fishing Charters Excursions are incredible! We'll take you and your family on a once-in-a-lifetime fishing trip in Alaska!
What trip to Alaska would be complete without a private fishing charters excursion? After all, Ketchikan is the Salmon Capital of the World! There are so many varieties of fish and we give you the choice to catch whatever species you prefer. We’ve got downriggers for salmon fishing, heavy weights and rods for halibut fishing, and other bottom fish like lingcod, rockfish (Yelloweye) and cod. We even have crab pots for trapping crabs! Choose between one of our two Alaska fishing charters boats. No other fishing charters excursions gives you this much flexibility in designing your own shore excursion!

The Salmonberry Adventure is our extremely customizable private, Alaska fishing charters excursion. You’ll easily find our friendly guide waiting for you with a sign-banner right on the main dock. From there, we get directly on board the boat of your choice learning about the modern ways Alaskans fish on your way to the nearest fishing grounds. We’re not afraid to burn some extra fuel to get you away from the crowds and close to the fish. We’ll brief you on boat safety, outfit you with gear, and give you the opportunity to purchase a fishing license.
Alaska requires everyone over the age of 16 to possess a valid Alaskan fishing license. Fishing licenses are available for purchase through Hooked Adventures. We’ll make sure you’re ready to fish. As of 2010, one-day licenses cost $20.00, three-day licenses $35.00 and seven-day licenses $55.00. King salmon anglers need a corresponding king salmon stamp. In 2010, prices started at $10.00 for a one-day stamp and went up to $30.00 for a seven-day stamp.
Setting sail, we’ll travel through some of the areas most pristine fishing grounds, where wild salmon come to spawn every year. There are five species of salmon in Ketchikan: Chinook (King), Coho (Silver), Pink (Humpback or “Humpies”), Sockeye (Red or Blueback) and Chum (Dog). Sit back and relax as your fishing charters guide traverse the famous Inside Passage, eventually settling into secluded areas with mysterious names like Snow Cove. During late June and early July, the annual King Salmon Derby kicks off and if you would like to participate in this high-charged event, we’ll guide you!
Yelloweye (Red Snapper) rock fish can be one of the most fun fish to catch with our Alaskan fishing charters excursion because of their striking colors and great tasting fillets, and that’s an option that we gladly propose to you. They are among the longest lived of rockfishes, living up to 118 years. They live in deep waters, and we’ve got the gear to fish them. There are other species of rock fish that swim the deep, cold waters of Ketchikan, but the Red Snapper is the most famous. Fishing Charters Excursions for Snapper can be one of the best experiences because you get more time relaxing behind the rod, rather than trolling at 5 knots.
Crab anyone? If you like crab, you can choose to add this as part of your fishing. Laying crab pots is an encounter that few get to experience but we’ve provided this very unique option for you! Most people image the Discovery Channel’s, Deadliest Catch, when they think about crabbing in Alaska. Those fisherman catch king crab. At Hooked Adventures Fishing Charters Excursions, we catch the smaller, but some say sweeter, Dungeness crab. “Dungies”, as Alaskan’s call them, were the first ever shellfish harvested from the Pacific Northwest of North America. The meat is light and fresh and fun to catch. Travel from pot to pot while you enjoy the Alaskan wildlife & majestic natural scenery. Crabbing is optional.
If you’re traveling on a cruise ship, we’ll pick you up right on the docks and lead you to our Alaska fishing charters boat! There’s no waiting, no vans rides, and no wasting time. We’ll get you fishing right away. Independent travelers should call ahead to arrange a meeting location, or simply stay at the Narrows Inn Lodge. Because our groups are small, space is extremely limited in June, July and August and advance bookings are highly recommended to avoid disappointment.
We will get you back to your cruise ship on time, 100% GUARANTEED
